ROK Cup Romania: The pecking order is clearer in Bucharest

The fourth round of the Romanian ROK Cup took place in Bucharest and crystallized the hierarchies at the top, defining the drivers' aspirations for the decisive phase of the season.

Micro ROK

Three of the four race winners from the previous round – Matvei Cotorobai (BRT), Aron Goncz (CSSK) and Jason Gorea (Real Racing) were absent this time, but four other drivers who had not attended the Târgu Secuiesc meeting returned. Among them were Stelian Guli (Superkart Racing Team) and Mara Irina Vinț (MIV Motorsport), both having already achieved victories in 2026 in Prejmer. Naturally, they fought for wins once again. Guli won the first round, Vinț crossed the finish line first in both races on Sunday, and Vladimir Fiscuci (Real Racing) celebrated his first success of the season and is firmly entering the title fight.

Mini ROK

In such a balanced category, it is rare to report three consecutive pole positions (on different circuits!) for the same driver, but this was precisely what Igor Aron Răcianu (CSSK) achieved. A solid base for winning the round, since he prevailed in two of the four heats. Nicolas Stoica-Gallegos (Drinago Racing) achieved his first victory of the year, and Adam Diaconu (Gulstar Racing) won the last race on Sunday, thus keeping his chances intact in a title fight that also includes Răcianu, Andreas Drugău (Gulstar Racing) and Teodor Licu (Formula K RO).

Junior ROK

Matvei Cupnîi (Gulstar Racing) was very close to scoring maximum points, only a penalty in the third leg preventing him from leaving Bucharest unbeaten. Still, this event proved to be a continuation of his form from Târgu Secuiesc, with a considerable advantage on display since qualy (0.442s). Thus, although Marc Moia (Toka Racing) inherited that leg victory, the loss of points in relation to Cupnîi determined the change of leader in the general classification, in a weekend where Adrian Gane (JMS Performance) also stood out. The Junior Lady ROK Trophy was more contested than ever, with 5 competitors. Maria Lăcan (CSSK) was the winner, ahead of Alessia Iacomi (Vidi Top Sport) and Isabela Lascu (Formula K RO).

Senior ROK

Two drivers stormed the front, fighting for supremacy one against one. Celik Mambet (Formula K RO) and Victor Nedelcu (Toka Racing) alternated in the lead, each of them winning two races. When the line was drawn at the end of the weekend, the decisive factor was Nedelcu's retirement in the first round, since Mambet collected points from 2nd or 3rd place whenever he did not win. However, Nedelcu maintains a considerable lead in the general classification, as Mambet missed the second stage. Our usual summer guest, Laurențiu Mardan, was a tough nut to crack for the championship regulars, managing to climb to the third step of the podium.
