Scorching heat favours the leaders

The Romanian Karting Masters returned to the track near Bucharest, where the hot weather did not prevent the leaders of the Micro ROK, Junior ROK and KZ categories from continuing their journey towards the season titles by adding 100 more points to their tally.

Micro ROK

Pole position: Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 1: Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 2: Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 3: Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 4: Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)

Final results: If at the previous stage Kyrylo Symeniuk marched on towards the leader's seat of the general ranking, this time the extension of his winning streak brought him a significant gap at the top of the standings. The pilot from Ukraine could be crowned champion of the Romanian Karting Masters at the end of next week. He is currently on eleven heats in a row and no one in a large field has looked able to challenge for more than second place behind him in Bucharest. After a difficult weekend in Târgu Secuiesc, the first leader of the season, Adam Pîrvu, returned to form and finished all four heatson the podium. Thus, he took the opportunity to overtake Dmytro Gorenko and Oleksandr Shylo in the season standings.

Round 4 standings

1. Kyrylo Symeniuk (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto) 100p
2. Adam Pîrvu (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto) 72p
3. Andreas Drugău (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto) 60p

Mini ROK

Pole position: Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 1: Ivan Kryzhanovskyi (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 2: Marc Moia (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 3: Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 4: Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)

Final results: Absent at Prejmer and caught in the pack at Târgu Secuiesc, Marc Moia returned to Bucharest eager to show his level in the most populated category, with 22 entries. Helped by the context of an unfortunate Saturday for Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor and by consistent performances (all four heats on the podium), Moia won the round in front of Ivan Kryzhanovskyi. Cosma-Cristofor allowed himself the luxury of losing points, his lead still being more than 100 points, which is why the revalidation of the title in the Mini ROK category could happen at the next meeting. The Under 10 subcategory was easily dominated by Robert Pulbere.

Round 4 standings

1. Marc Moia (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto) 77p
2. Ivan Kryzhanovskyi (Borsch Racing/Energy Corse/Vortex/Levanto) 69p
3. Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto) 63p

Junior ROK

Pole position: David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 1: David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 2: David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 3: David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)
Race 4: David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto)

Final results: Imperturbable, David Cosma-Cristofor once again scored wins without reply in Bucharest. The absence of Cristian Velciu was compensated by the appearances of Tudor Jercan and Andrei Șuțu. Both were fast enough to relegate the regulars of the category, but the only full-timer outside the leader, Ruxandra Cozma, collected the necessary points to maintain third position overall. At the same time, Cozma also won the Junior ROK Lady trophy of this round.

Round 4 standings

1. David Cosma-Cristofor (Gulstar Racing/KR/Vortex/Levanto) 100p
2. Tudor Jercan (Borsch Racing/Tony Kart/Vortex/Levanto) 68p
3. Andrei Suțu (Transkart Racing Club/Tony Kart/Vortex/Levanto) 66p
