First day of school brings high emotion

The new season of the Romanian ROK Cup started at Prejmer Raceway with an influx of determined and highly skilled drivers, willing to put into practice what they learned during the winter training. Eager to meet their new classmates, the favorites even had to cope with a little downpour in their pursuit of victory.

The Micro ROK category had a clear division: the battle for victory, particularly close, was always between Dragoș Ciuleanu (7Motorsport) and Adam Diaconu (BRT), while 7 other drivers fought for the other positions. Ciuleanu defeated his direct opponent with a score of 3-1 and therefore has a 10-point advantage in the general classification, while Tudor Stamatoiu (Drinago Racing) ranked third, due to an incident at the start of the last round in which Aris Oancea (CSSK) was involved.

Radu Băsescu-Pricop (Real Racing) won the first race of 2025 in the Mini ROK category, but Gergo Buzaș (CSSK) and Darren Betea (7Motorsport) overtook him in the general classification until the last start of the weekend. Băsescu-Pricop got his revenge on Sunday afternoon, with Igor Aron-Răcianu (CSSK) helping him decisively, as he kept his rivals off the podium in the fourth round.

Sonia Crivoiruc (Real Racing) won two races in the Junior ROK category and climbed to the podium in the other two. Thus, she won this round with a considerable lead, in front of an extremely balanced group, with four drivers within a range of only two points: Călin Costea (Gulstar Racing), Robert Dumitrescu (Drinago Racing), Rareș Fiscutean (Drinago Racing) and Carla-Maria Roșu (Real Racing).

In 2025, the Senior ROK action returned, where five competitors dueled on the Prejmer track. Alexandru Zănescu (JMS Performance), author of three victories and a second place, had a near perferct result. The race that slipped through his fingers went to Mihnea Lorent (Real Racing) and the podium of the round was completed by Yanis Mateaș (Real Racing), who defeated Lorent in a direct battle in both Sunday races.

The ROK Cup action returns in just three weeks in the same arena, for the second meeting of the season.
